A Soft Tissue Therapist is qualified to treat clients with musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. A Soft Tissue Therapist has a BTEC level 5 (equivalent to the second year of a university degree).
Treatment involves: Injury assessment Movement testing Advanced soft tissue manipulation, including neuromuscular techniques Remedial exercise and advice to:
Restore and improve function
Prepare the body for athletic activities
Maintain the body in optimal condition
Improve alignment and posture
Soft tissue includes tendons, ligaments, fascia, skin, fibrous tissues, fat, and synovial membranes (which are connective tissue) and muscles, nerves and blood vessels (which are not connective tissue).
